Day 1 done…

photo_2019-09-22 20.26.36.jpeg

Today was my first day of my 10 week challenge officially along with doing a keto diet. I’m a little nervous about doing keto but I’m really hoping it helps me with losing weight and balancing out my hormones like I have read its suppose to do…I have also heard of people who were going through infertility get pregnant while doing keto! So I tried it today and I went over my carbs which I’m not too upset about it given the fact its my first day ever on it and its still lower than what my usual carb and sugar intake would have been usually. I also fasted for almost 19 hours today thanx to sleeping in 🙂

I have been having such bad back issues and now I have a tiny tiny scratch in my right eye which I have to do antibiotics drops couple of times a day for the next few days; so last thing I wanted to do was exercise but I had my husband along with my niece, nephew and sister in law join me in going for a walk around our neighborhood for 30 minutes. I still have to read my book for 15 minutes or more tonight before bed which I’m planning on doing after I’m done writing this blog post and I’ll officially be done with day 1…woohoo!

For my keto food today, I wanted to share what I ate.

I made myself a smoothie this morning consisting of strawberries and blueberries which I read just barely today you can only have 1/4 cup of and I obviously had added more than that. I also added my Alani nu protein powder along with chia seeds, almond milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter (which I also found out today that we’re not allowed to have on keto…sucks) oh and I also added a ton of spinach to my smoothie as well.

Then I made myself and my husband some lunch/dinner. I made scrambled eggs with spinach, turkey bacon, cherry tomatoes and avocado….it was delicious. I was planning on starting to fast around that time but then around 5:30 I started to get a big craving for something sweet so I ate one of my “ONE” protein bars; which I’m still not sure if its on to eat on keto or not…I’ll have to research it since it’s kinda of high in carbs I believe its 17 grams of carbs for the bar…

That was the last thing I had before I started fasting for the night…

Any recipes/tips/advice for doing Keto??

xoxo

vacation

Costa Rica!

My husband and I went on vacation a little over a week ago and had such a great time! We went to Guanacaste Costa Rica and stayed at Dreams Las Mareas for a week! We relaxed, enjoyed our time in the pool and did ATV for the first time ever! I was so nervous but it was actually fun! I did almost fall off once though but hey for my first time ever… that wasn’t too bad! We did a day tour to Nicaragua as well and got to see an active volcano and I even got to feed a monkey which was so awesome! Here are a few pictures from our trip…

10 week challenge starts Today!

Good morning!

Even though I didn’t finish my challenge last time, I actually really enjoyed it and felt like it helped me in a lot of ways of making sure I read everyday and worked out as well; therefore I decided to do another one! This time I will be doing a 10 week challenge rather than a 6 week challenge!

My 10 week challenge starts today and ends on November 25th! This is what I’ll have to do everyday (minus the weekly photo) in order to complete my challenge:

• Workout everyday for at least 30 minutes.

• Drink a gallon or more of water.

• Read for 15 minutes or more daily.

• Write a blog post everyday!

• Intermittent fast. Minimum of 12 hours but aim for 16!

• Progress photo once a week along with measuring myself once a week.

I’m so excited, it has been about 3 weeks since I worked out but I’m ready to get back into it! I also want to eventually incorporate keto into my diet slowly!

Anyone want to do the challenge with me?

Weight loss Challenge for July!

This past week has been insanely sad and crazy for me. If you read my last post you’ll know that my sweet dog passed away and I took it really hard. I tend to eat when I’m sad so I sadly gained about 3 pounds in the past week or so. I really want to focus on myself so I challenged myself (my husband challenged me too) to lose at least 7 pounds by my birthday. I’m currently 282.8 pounds as of this morning and I want to get to 275 by my birthday which is July 31st. I am starting intermittent fasting and am going to aim for 16 hours every day if I really can’t stick it on certain days I’ll do 14 only.

Today was the first day of my challenge and I am happy that I was able to fast 16.5 hours and I ate pretty good. I love my sugar and treats and I had very little of it today compared to how much I usually have! I even went and worked out at the end of the day 🙌 So fingers crossed I can pass this challenge and lose 7 or more pounds by end of July!

My dog passed away…

It has been such a rough week for me; my sweet baby boy passed away at the age of 8. He has been sick the past few weeks; he sadly had pancreatitis and the medicine didn’t help. He was the first pet that I owned that I got all by myself, he was my baby and I’m so heartbroken that he’s gone but glad that he is no longer suffering and in pain! I literally have gone into depression because of this and also just losing my grandma just a few months ago; its been really hard but I’m so glad to have my husband by my side helping me through this tough time. Do you have any pets?

Eating habits…

fullsizeoutput_12

I am currently babysitting and just put the boys down for the night and all I want to do is go grab a snack to munch on. Im not hungry actually I just want to eat because well it’s such a habit of mine. For years I would snack and eat just randomly, I would hardly ever let myself get hungry. I would binge eat for the hell of it, I would eat when I was emotional, stressed, etc. I had no control of it, actually I still have a hard time. But thankfully due to the intermittent fasting, at least I control it a little bit. I started fasting at 7:30pm tonight (a little over an hour ago) and I’m not hungry at all but all I want to do is go grab something to eat while I watch movies or read a book; but instead I decided to just drink water and sit here and blog. I really want to break this horrible habit of mine… any tips to help me besides for keeping myself busy and fasting???

Failed Intermittent fasting…

Well I didn’t fail but I did slack off! I got so sick about 3 weeks ago, with a horrible ear and throat infection and bronchitis! I had to miss 3 days of work just because I was that sick and could barely talk! On top of that my sweet sweet grandma passed away that week! So I was on antibiotics for almost 10 days if not more so I had to eat to take my pills even though I barely ate since I couldn’t swollen anything let alone liquid and pills. But yeah I got off the track of fasting and exercising! So tonight I decided enough is enough I’m going back to fasting! I’m starting to feel bloated again, I’m starting to eat more and crave sugar like there’s no tomorrow. I just don’t like this feeling anymore and want to feel how I felt when I fasted for a month! I wasn’t doing the 16:8 method as I mentioned, so I’m just going to continue to do why I was doing which was mainly listening to my body. If I was starving and was getting light headed I would end up fast before my 14 (my everyday goal was to fast for 14 hours) but I have done 15, 16 and even one 18 hour fast! So I know I can do it but it’ll just be so hard this week trying to retrain my body! So wish me luck!!! I want to document my journey to getting back on track on here!
